What is Get Ahead Colorado?

Get Ahead Colorado is a public information campaign presented by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE).

Get Ahead Colorado provides information about tax filing to connect more Coloradans to essential tax credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit. These tax credits play a pivotal role in improving economic mobility, health, and educational outcomes for Coloradans and their families.

Get Ahead Colorado is a public health awareness campaign aiming to enhance the financial well-being of families/individuals by:

  • Assisting people in receiving the tax credits they are eligible for.

  • Referring people to free tax filing services so they can retain more of the tax credits they receive. Individuals can only receive tax credits by filing a federal and state tax return.

CDPHE is dedicated to the ongoing protection and enhancement of the health and environment of all Colorado residents

About THE ECONOMIC MOBILITY PROGRAM

The Get Ahead Colorado and Hacia Adelante Colorado campaigns are funded by the SB22-182 Economic Mobility Program. The campaigns are led by CDPHE’s Economic Mobility Program, which aims to decrease child poverty and increase the economic well-being of all Coloradans across the course of their lives and across generations.

The Economic Mobility Program operates within the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) program at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and seeks to create an equitable Colorado where all individuals, families, and communities can thrive.
