The Get Ahead Colorado and Hacia Adelante Colorado campaigns are funded by the SB22-182 Economic Mobility Program. The campaigns are led by CDPHE’s Economic Mobility Program, which aims to decrease child poverty and increase the economic well-being of all Coloradans across the course of their lives and across generations.
The Economic Mobility Program operates within the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) program at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and seeks to create an equitable Colorado where all individuals, families, and communities can thrive.
Tax credits support healthier Colorado children, families, and communities
When Coloradans have the financial resources to meet their basic needs, individuals, parents, and children can thrive. Tax credits are shown to improve health outcomes and increase health equity, including:
Improved child nutrition
Reduced mental and financial stress
Improved physical health of mothers, including reducing the risk of preterm delivery
Expanded access to affordable housing for individuals and families
Reduced infant mortality and low birth weight
Reduced child maltreatment
Increased health from generation to generation
Improved educational and earnings outcomes
