Six percent of Coloradans are unbanked, which is higher than the national average. With a bank account, it is easier for families to make basic financial transactions and to build savings.
By partnering with local banks and credit unions, Bank On Colorado provides a list of low-cost or no-cost bank accounts that are accessible to everyone. You can use this tool to get connected to banking services.

The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) helps low-income households pay for winter home heating costs with cash assistance. The program runs from November through April each year.

Colorado’s Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program.
The FAMLI program ensures Colorado workers have access to paid leave to take care of themselves or their family during life circumstances that pull them away from their jobs — like growing their family or taking care of a loved one with a serious health condition.
Eligible employees can receive up to twelve weeks of leave per year. Those who experience pregnancy or childbirth complications may receive an additional four weeks.
Student Loan Repayment
Student loan borrowers can visit the Federal Student Aid website for information and resources about student loan repayment, including income-driven repayment options and forgiveness programs.
The Colorado Attorney General’s Student Loan Ombudsperson may also be able to help borrowers navigate the student loan repayment process. The Ombudsperson is responsible for receiving, reviewing, and attempting to resolve student loan borrower complaints. Borrowers having problems with their student loans can file a complaint with the student loan ombudsperson on this webpage or send an email to studentloans@coag.gov.
